Nuit Blanche

Nuit Blanche is an all-night arty party held each October. It started up around the time our son was born. Five years later, I was finally able to get out with my camera. It's a great idea and I saw some interesting art/performances, but there were so many drunken yahoos out there, that I packed up early and came home. Fascinating art is in the eye of the beholder.

Kent Monkman in drag performing a native drumming ritual.

Smiling people projected on the front of Holt Renfrew - a store I'm proud to say I've never set foot in, nor shall I ever - even if I ever have serious money. Not that that's going to happen.
I got involved in a parachute party right at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor - one of the busiest intersections downtown. Traffic was blocked off for the night.

Exotic dancer projected on a large screen at Nathan Phillip's Square. This was part of Daniel Lanois' concert/performance Later That Night at the Drive-in. The music was great and Nathan Phillip's Square looked amazing.

Hey, look - a clip posted on YouTube. I don't know how the salsa dancer didn't freeze. I guess if you shake your bon-bon fast enough, you stay warm.
