Abandoned Church in Elora

This week we went up to Fergus and Elora, where I discovered this beautiful, abandoned church. If anyone knows anything about the history of this building, please leave a comment.

  1. Whoa...love urban exploration and viewing pics of various abandoned houses, etc. I grew up in Kitchener, ON (not that far from Elora) and I remember this church. Gorgeous pics!

Erin, just finished reading this whole blog and truly enjoyed all the posts - particularly like the ones of the Danforth area. Both our daughters have apartments on Gamble and it is great to visit some of the area through your eyes.

They already have a plan to turn it into a condo community.
    Loved the photos!

  3. a friend of mine used to live there. it actually was a cool party joint with good vibes. couches everywhere, murals on the walls, locals playing their music. there were always candles burning and then one day someone or something burned it down.

  4. My husband and I were there this past summer and we too wondered about this fantastic old building, what denomination of church it was, the history, etc. Amazing pics you have-that's exactly as I remember it!

  5. I lived there for a bit back in the hayday of the partys! A lot of fun and good music, huge table and cases of beer in the sanctuary. Met a lot of cool people there.
